Deir el-Bahari is one of the most remarkable mortuary temples of ancient Egypt, located on the west bank of the Nile River, near the Valley of the Kings in Luxor. This temple complex is best known for the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, a stunning structure built during the 18th Dynasty (c. 1479–1458 BCE). Designed by the architect Senen Mut, this temple was dedicated to Amun-Ra, the chief deity of Thebes, and honored the reign of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most powerful female pharaohs.
