The Temple of Seti I, located in Abydos, Egypt, is one of the most sacred and well-preserved temples of the New Kingdom. Built by Pharaoh Seti I and completed by his son Ramses II, this temple is dedicated to the god Osiris and honors several other major deities, including Amun-Ra, Ptah, and Isis.
Constructed during the 19th Dynasty (c. 1290–1279 BCE), the Abydos Temple served as both a funerary monument for Seti I and a pilgrimage site for worshipers of Osiris, the god of the underworld. The temple is most famous for its Abydos King List, an important chronological inscription listing 76 pharaohs of Egypt, from Menes (Narmer) to Seti I, excluding controversial rulers like Hatshepsut and Akhenaten.
